This legislation aims to extend the funding and operation of two critical public health initiatives. Specifically, it reauthorizes the Special Diabetes Program for Type 1 Diabetes and the Special Diabetes Program for Indians , ensuring their continued support for research and services. For both programs, the bill allocates substantial funding to remain available until expended. Each program will receive $160,000,000 for fiscal years 2026 and 2027 . Furthermore, an additional $40,000,000 is provided for the period from October 1, 2027, through December 31, 2027 , extending their financial support into the first quarter of fiscal year 2028.
