United States119th CongressS-2108Senate
Updated: Jun 18, 2025

Summary

This bill amends title 23 of the United States Code to establish an axle weight variance for certain commercial motor vehicles. It specifically targets vehicles transporting dry bulk goods , which are defined as homogeneous, unmarked, unpackaged, nonliquid cargo in specialized trailers. Under this new provision, these commercial motor vehicles may exceed the maximum weight on any axle or axle group by up to 110 percent . This variance is allowed only if the vehicle does not exceed the overall maximum gross vehicle weight limitation , aiming to increase efficiency in the transport of such materials.
