SAFE FOOD Act of 2025

This bill, known as the SAFE FOOD Act of 2025, mandates the Secretary of Agriculture to undertake a comprehensive study. The primary goal of this study is to investigate the feasibility and implications of consolidating various federal agencies responsible for food safety in the United States into a single, unified entity. Specifically, the study will consider agencies such as the Food Safety and Inspection Service , the Food and Drug Administration , and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention . The Secretary must initiate this study within 60 days of the bill's enactment and submit a detailed report to Congress within one year, outlining the study's findings and any recommendations regarding the proposed consolidation.
