West Coast Ocean Protection Act of 2025

The "West Coast Ocean Protection Act of 2025" proposes to permanently prohibit oil and gas exploration, development, and production on the Outer Continental Shelf off the coasts of California, Oregon, and Washington. This bill would amend Section 8 of the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act to prevent the Secretary from issuing any leases or authorizations for such activities in specific planning areas. The targeted regions include the Washington/Oregon, Northern California, Central California, and Southern California Planning Areas , as defined by the 2024-2029 National Outer Continental Shelf Oil and Gas Leasing Proposed Final Program.
