Women and Lung Cancer Research and Preventive Services Act of 2025

This bill directs the Secretary of Health and Human Services to conduct an interagency review, in consultation with the Secretaries of Defense and Veterans Affairs, focusing on lung cancer in women and underserved populations. The review will evaluate the status of research, access to preventive services, and public awareness campaigns related to lung cancer. Its primary goal is to identify opportunities for accelerating research, including eliminating knowledge gaps, evaluating environmental and genomic factors, and advancing imaging technologies for improved risk assessment and diagnosis. The review will also explore strategies for developing a national lung cancer screening strategy to expand access, particularly for women and underserved groups. Finally, the bill mandates the identification of opportunities for a national public education campaign on lung cancer in these populations and the importance of early detection, with a comprehensive report due to Congress within two years.
