District of Columbia Local Funds Act, 2025

This Act formally approves the appropriation of local funds for the District of Columbia for fiscal year 2025 . These funds are drawn from the District of Columbia's General Fund and are intended for programs and activities as detailed in the Fiscal Year 2025 Local Budget Act of 2024, at the rates specified therein. A key provision states that the total amount appropriated for operating expenses cannot exceed the estimates in the local budget act or the District's total revenues for the fiscal year. However, the appropriated amount may be increased by proceeds from one-time transactions to address emergency or unanticipated needs, provided such increases are approved by local District law and comply with all reserve requirements. The Chief Financial Officer of the District of Columbia is tasked with ensuring these financial requirements are met, including the proper apportionment of funds, but is prohibited from reprogramming funds derived from capital projects for operating expenses.
