Despite its historical significance, the Department of Education discontinued the Blue Ribbon Schools program on August 29, 2025. This resolution specifically recognizes the schools selected for the 2025 designation, including a list of schools from Illinois, before the program's termination. The House of Representatives commends the educators and communities of these schools and urgently calls upon the Secretary of Education to immediately reinstate the Blue Ribbon Schools program .
