Affirmations provides a wide array of services addressing disparities in physical and mental health, community building, and economic challenges, including job readiness programs, a food pantry, and assistance with government programs. The resolution further highlights Ferndale's public commitment to equality, noting its anti-discrimination ordinances, the permanent display of the rainbow Pride flag in City Council Chambers, and the election of openly LGBTQIA+ officials. The city has also been home to major Pride celebrations, attracting thousands and fostering economic development and public health.
