This House Resolution aims to raise awareness for chordoma , a rare and aggressive bone cancer of the skull and spine that affects thousands worldwide and is notoriously difficult to treat due to its involvement with critical anatomical structures. The resolution emphasizes that despite best care, recurrence rates remain high, and there are currently no effective drug treatments for patients whose disease progresses beyond surgical and radiation options. Therefore, it expresses the sense of the House that increased funding and support are critically needed for chordoma patients and families, specifically for: accurate and early diagnosis; the development of new treatments, diagnostics, and cures; reducing hurdles between research and new treatments; and fostering patient-centric approaches to drug discovery and development.
