This resolution honors the victims and survivors of a tragic mass shooting that occurred on December 13, 2025, at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. During a final exam review session, a gunman opened fire in a campus building, resulting in the deaths of two students, Ella Cook and Mukhammad Aziz Umurzokov, and injuries to nine others. The House of Representatives condemns this senseless act of violence , extends condolences to the affected families, and commends the immediate and compassionate response of numerous first responder agencies. It also expresses solidarity with the Brown University community and the State of Rhode Island. Crucially, the resolution recognizes that the persistent issue of gun violence will not end without Congressional action to prevent future tragedies.
