Recognizing and honoring Cambodian veterans of the Khmer National Armed Forces for their sacrifices, their support of the Armed Forces of the United States, and their defense of freedom in Southeast Asia.

This resolution recognizes and honors the Khmer National Armed Forces (FANK) for their pivotal role in fighting communism alongside the United States Armed Forces during the Vietnam War. The FANK provided vital intelligence on enemy positions and movements, disrupted logistical capabilities, and offered critical support for the safe evacuation of U.S. Embassy personnel from Phnom Penh in 1975. Their courageous actions were instrumental in advancing shared goals of freedom and security in the region. Following the fall of Phnom Penh, FANK members and their families faced immense suffering and mass executions during the Khmer Rouge genocide, with many subsequently resettling in the United States. Despite enduring severe mental health and socioeconomic challenges, these veterans and their families have contributed significantly to their new communities and continue to serve the U.S. in various fields. The resolution expresses profound gratitude for their sacrifices, invaluable partnership, and historical contributions to freedom and security in Southeast Asia.
