TCUs are tribally or federally chartered institutions operating on over 90 campuses, serving students from more than 250 federally recognized Indian Tribes by offering culturally grounded, high-quality postsecondary education, including Native languages, to American Indians, Alaska Natives, and other individuals in isolated areas. These accredited institutions prepare students for the global workforce and significantly contribute to the national economy, generating billions and providing substantial returns on investment for students, taxpayers, and society. The resolution calls upon the people of the United States and interested groups to observe this designated week with appropriate activities and programs to demonstrate support for the collective mission and considerable achievements of TCUs.
