This data exchange aims to significantly increase efficiency and actively mitigate waste, fraud, and abuse across disaster recovery programs managed by HUD. Moreover, the legislation requires the HUD Secretary to submit a report to Congress within 180 days of the bill's enactment. This report must outline specific opportunities for greater collaboration between HUD, FEMA, and SBA to improve the overall efficiency of HUD's disaster recovery initiatives.
