HUD Disaster Information Improvement Act

This bill mandates the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to enter into a memorandum of understanding or another appropriate interagency agreement with the Administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Administrator of the Small Business Administration (SBA).

The core purpose of this agreement is to enable the sharing of relevant disaster relief data among these three agencies. This data exchange aims to significantly increase efficiency and actively mitigate waste, fraud, and abuse across disaster recovery programs managed by HUD.

Moreover, the legislation requires the HUD Secretary to submit a report to Congress within 180 days of the bill's enactment. This report must outline specific opportunities for greater collaboration between HUD, FEMA, and SBA to improve the overall efficiency of HUD's disaster recovery initiatives.
