No AI Data Centers on Federal Lands Act

This proposed legislation aims to prohibit the construction and operation of Artificial Intelligence Data Centers and their associated infrastructure on all Federal land. It further mandates that any agency currently operating, leasing, or constructing such facilities on Federal land must cease operations and begin removal within 30 days of the Act's enactment.

The bill defines an "Artificial Intelligence Data Center" as facilities used for the development or operation of AI models at scale, or those exceeding 20 megawatts of power capacity with specific high-density power delivery or advanced liquid cooling systems. "Associated infrastructure" includes critical components like transmission lines, power substations, and natural gas facilities. Importantly, "Federal land" encompasses all land owned or managed by the United States, excluding land held in trust for Indian Tribes. All removal and remediation activities must adhere to environmental standards, including those outlined in the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act of 1980.
