Childhood Disability Benefits Fairness Act

This bill proposes to amend the Social Security Act to modify Medicaid eligibility rules for specific individuals. Its primary goal is to ensure that certain recipients of child's insurance benefits maintain access to crucial medical assistance by altering how their income is considered.

Specifically, the legislation mandates that individuals receiving child's insurance benefits under section 202(d) shall be treated as receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits for the purpose of determining Medicaid eligibility under Title XIX. This provision applies only if the individual would otherwise be eligible for SSI in the absence of their child's insurance benefits. The amendment will take effect for all Medicaid eligibility determinations and redeterminations made on or after the date of its enactment.
