Outside Influence Prevention Act

This bill proposes an amendment to the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971, specifically targeting independent expenditures made by political committees in federal elections. It mandates that for any independent expenditure made in a State concerning a candidate for Representative, Delegate, or Resident Commissioner to Congress, at least half of the funds used for that expenditure must have been contributed by individuals whose address is within that specific State. This requirement applies exclusively to political committees that make only independent expenditures , aiming to ensure a significant portion of funding for such activities originates from the local electorate and thereby limit the impact of out-of-state money in Congressional races.
