This bill mandates the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to establish a pilot program focused on identifying respiratory disorders and lung disease in veterans. The program will utilize an FDA-approved four-dimensional functional lung imaging software product to assess lung function for veterans receiving medical services at Department of Veterans Affairs facilities. To implement this, the Secretary will lease the eligible software product from its developer, with the authority to enter into such agreements expiring five years after the bill's enactment. A comprehensive report evaluating the pilot program's effectiveness must be submitted to Congress two years after this authority expires. The bill authorizes an appropriation of $5,000,000 annually for fiscal years 2027 through 2031 to fund this initiative.
