Fund Schools, Not ICE Act

This bill aims to redirect financial resources from immigration enforcement to educational programs. It mandates the transfer of any unobligated funds previously appropriated to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) under the Secure America Act to the Department of Education. These transferred funds are specifically designated to carry out programs under part A of title I of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 , which typically supports disadvantaged students. Furthermore, the legislation requires the Secretary of Homeland Security to sell each covered immigration detention warehouse within 60 days of the Act's enactment. These covered warehouses are defined as 11 specific facilities purchased for immigration detention purposes between January 1, 2026, and March 31, 2026, thereby reducing the physical infrastructure for immigration detention.
