This bill establishes the National Fraud Enforcement Division within the Department of Justice, to be led by an Assistant Attorney General appointed by the President with Senate confirmation. The Assistant Attorney General will oversee multi-district and multi-agency fraud investigations, provide guidance to U.S. Attorneys' Offices, and collaborate with federal agencies to disrupt sophisticated fraud schemes. Additionally, the role involves developing national enforcement priorities, proposing necessary legislative and regulatory reforms, and advising the Attorney General on significant fraud investigations and related policy matters.
