This bill mandates the Secretary of the Air Force to procure space-based commercial data and end products , subject to the availability of appropriations. This procurement will be conducted through the Commercial Space Office, in coordination with the National Guard's FireGuard program and the Commander of the United States Northern Command. The acquired data is intended to bolster the Department of Defense's efforts and the U.S. Northern Command's wildfire mission . It aims to deliver timely military support to federal, state, local, and tribal governments, safeguarding military readiness and installations, providing emergency aid to civil authorities, and facilitating proactive wildland fire management. The Secretary is also authorized to share this data with state, local, and tribal governments to assist their firefighting efforts.
