This bill mandates that the Department of State consult with appropriate congressional committees regarding Islamophobia in Europe . It expresses a Sense of Congress that the Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs should assess the persistent and growing threat of Islamophobia as a significant matter for U.S. foreign policy, given its potential impact on transatlantic stability and the safety of U.S. citizens and institutions abroad. The legislation further directs the Assistant Secretary to diplomatically engage European governments on efforts for transatlantic cooperation to counter and address this issue. These consultations are required to occur within 180 days of enactment and annually thereafter for two years, specifically with the House Committee on Foreign Affairs and the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations.
