UNLOCK AUKUS Act

The UNLOCK AUKUS Act proposes to amend the Arms Export Control Act to facilitate defense cooperation within the AUKUS partnership . By inserting an exclusion for subclauses (I), (II), and (III) of subsection (j)(1)(C)(ii) into Section 38(l)(4)(B) of the Act, the bill aims to streamline the process for such transfers. This change is intended to remove specific regulatory hurdles, thereby enhancing the ability of the United States to share defense technology and capabilities with Australia and the United Kingdom.
