Cybersecurity Logging Enforcement and Accountability Reporting Act

This bill mandates the Secretary of Homeland Security to submit a comprehensive report within 180 days of enactment, detailing the Department's efforts to satisfy all event logging requirements for cybersecurity incidents. The report, prepared through the Under Secretary for Management, must specifically address compliance with Executive Order 14028 , OMB Memorandum M-26-14 , and NIST Special Publication 800-53 . Key elements of the report include an analysis of current implementation status, identification of any gaps in guidance, policies, or resources preventing compliance, and recommendations to address these deficiencies. The report must be unclassified, with its executive summary published on a public website, and followed by a congressional briefing within 30 days of submission.
