Water Reservoir Transparency Act

This legislation mandates the Secretary of the Army , acting through the Chief of Engineers, to conduct a comprehensive study concerning water resources. The central purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of new commercial and industrial water users on the operational use and water levels of reservoirs managed by the Corps of Engineers. This analysis aims to provide critical understanding of how increased demand from these sectors influences the availability and management of water within these vital reservoirs. Within 180 days of the Act's enactment, the Secretary is required to submit a detailed report containing the study's results to the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure and the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works. Additionally, the findings of this study must be made publicly accessible on a Corps of Engineers website, promoting transparency in water resource management.
