National Fab Lab Network Act of 2026

This bill establishes the National Fab Lab Network , a nonprofit corporation independent of the U.S. Government, to create a nationwide system of local digital fabrication facilities, or "fab labs." The primary goal is to provide universal access to advanced manufacturing tools and foster a network that empowers individuals and communities across the United States. These facilities are intended to serve as platforms for education, innovation, entrepreneurship, and personal expression. The Network aims to promote STEM education , enhance workforce development for 21st-century jobs, and stimulate invention and business creation. Its activities include seeking to establish at least one fab lab in each Congressional District, with a focus on underserved communities, and linking these labs into a cohesive national network. The corporation will also provide resources, standards, and training for fab lab operations, maintaining a national registry and ensuring diverse representation on its governing board.
