Stephen Wira ABLE Act

This bill, titled the Stephen Wira ABLE Act, amends the Stephen Beck, Jr., ABLE Act of 2014 to adjust the amounts in ABLE accounts disregarded for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) eligibility. It increases the resource exclusion limit from $100,000 to $150,000 for calendar year 2026 . For subsequent years, this limit will be annually adjusted based on the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI). The Commissioner of Social Security is responsible for determining and publishing this adjusted amount each year. This change allows individuals with disabilities to save more in their ABLE accounts without jeopardizing their SSI benefits.
