GHOSTRUCK Act

This legislative proposal, known as the GHOSTRUCK Act , seeks to modify section 31137(b) of title 49, United States Code, concerning electronic logging device (ELD) records. It specifically authorizes employees or authorized agents of a motor carrier to make edits or annotations to these records. A crucial condition for such modifications is that the employee or agent performing the action must be physically located in North America . Furthermore, to ensure accountability and accuracy, any edit or annotation made by these authorized personnel must be explicitly subject to driver approval . This provision aims to balance the need for administrative flexibility in record-keeping with the ultimate responsibility and oversight of the driver regarding their hours-of-service data.
