School Access to Naloxone Act of 2026

This bill amends the Public Health Service Act to create a new grant program aimed at reducing opioid overdose deaths in elementary and secondary schools. It authorizes the Secretary to award grants to eligible entities, such as school districts, to facilitate the administration of drugs and devices for emergency treatment of known or suspected opioid overdoses in public and private schools.

To qualify for these grants, schools must certify several conditions, including having a program for trained personnel to administer overdose reversal medications and maintaining an accessible supply of such drugs and devices. They must also ensure trained individuals are on premises during all operating hours. Furthermore, the State attorney general must certify that adequate civil liability protection exists for school personnel administering these treatments, ensuring legal safeguards for those providing emergency aid.
