Recreation Permitting Improvement Act

The Recreation Permitting Improvement Act aims to streamline federal permitting for certain recreation activities by amending the FAST Act. Specifically, it modifies Section 41001(6)(A) of the FAST Act to broaden the scope of projects subject to federal permitting improvement.

This amendment inserts "recreation" into the list of sectors considered "covered projects." As a result, recreation projects will now benefit from the expedited and improved federal permitting processes established by the FAST Act, which were originally designed to accelerate infrastructure development. The bill's purpose is to enhance efficiency in the approval of recreation-related developments across the country.
