ON TIME Act

This bill amends title 38 of the United States Code to enhance suicide prevention services for veterans. It mandates that the Secretary of Veterans Affairs ensure a suicide prevention coordinator is available at every Department of Veterans Affairs medical center.

Crucially, this availability must extend outside the medical center's operating hours when needed to accommodate requests for suicide prevention planning services. This provision aims to provide more timely access to critical support for veterans in crisis. However, the bill explicitly states that this requirement does not authorize the hiring of any additional full-time equivalent positions within the Department.
