Small Business Technological Advancement Act

This bill expands the permissible uses for Small Business Administration (SBA) loans under Section 7(a) of the Small Business Act. It specifically authorizes the SBA to provide financing for modern business software and cloud computing services , or any similar technology. These loans are designed to help small businesses acquire tools that facilitate critical operations like product delivery, payroll, human resources, sales, billing, accounting, and inventory tracking. The bill explicitly includes business tools that utilize artificial intelligence as eligible for financing. A rule of construction clarifies that these loans are not intended for research and development purposes and do not limit the existing definition of working capital.
