Furthermore, the legislation clarifies that a facility's eligibility for REH designation will not be impacted by changes in its ownership or its national provider identification number. These adjustments are designed to provide greater flexibility for rural healthcare providers, helping more facilities convert to REHs and ensuring continued access to essential emergency services in underserved rural communities.
