This bill requires the Comptroller General to conduct a comprehensive study evaluating current federal cybersecurity initiatives, programs, resources, tools, and services designed to assist small business concerns. The study will assess how these federal efforts help small businesses in identifying cyber risks , assessing preparedness, and planning for, mitigating, and recovering from cyberattacks and incidents of fraud, including assistance in obtaining capital for these activities. Key components of the study include identifying common cyberattacks, describing existing federal programs, and assessing their awareness, use, and effectiveness among small businesses. The Comptroller General will also evaluate the coordination and integration among these initiatives, identify any missing foundational cybersecurity concepts, and provide recommendations to improve their overall effectiveness, awareness, and coordination. A detailed report containing all findings and determinations will be submitted to the House and Senate Committees on Small Business.
