For National Infrastructure Project Assistance Grants , Amtrak may use other federal grant funds for project activities, provided its involvement is not solely monetary. Under Consolidated Rail Infrastructure and Safety Improvements Grants , any federal funds provided to Amtrak can fulfill the non-Federal share. Furthermore, for Federal-State Partnership for Intercity Passenger Rail Grants , Amtrak can now explicitly use tickets, other revenues, or specific federal grant funds designated for National Network or Northeast Corridor activities to meet matching requirements.
