This bill directs the Secretary of Defense to furnish stellate ganglion block (SGB) to eligible members of the Armed Forces diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) . To qualify, service members must be enrolled in the TRICARE program, have a PTSD diagnosis, and elect to receive SGB after being informed of its risks and benefits by a qualified healthcare provider. The Secretary may provide this treatment through Department of Defense medical facilities or qualified healthcare providers participating in a TRICARE health insurance program. Furthermore, the bill mandates an update to the VA/DOD Clinical Practice Guideline for PTSD within 180 days of enactment to incorporate SGB as a recognized therapy option, including its clinical indicators and contraindications. Upon updating the guideline, the Secretary must notify congressional defense committees, with the SGB provision taking effect 180 days after the bill's enactment.
