This bill establishes the Agent Orange Veterans Service Medal , which the Secretary of Defense is directed to design and produce. The medal is intended to honor veterans who were exposed to Agent Orange during their military service. Eligibility for the medal includes veterans receiving compensation under specific sections of title 38 related to Agent Orange exposure, or those defined as Vietnam-era herbicide-exposed veterans . The Secretary of Defense will issue the medal to eligible veterans upon certification by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs, or to their next-of-kin if the veteran is deceased. An application process will be developed for veterans and their next-of-kin to request the medal.
