Rural Utilities Service Modernization Act

Furthermore, the legislation mandates improvements to the RUS grant application process, requiring the Administrator to implement online grant applications within two years and to prescribe regulations for more predictable notice of funding opportunity timelines . Finally, the bill directs the Secretary of Agriculture to conduct a comprehensive staff assessment of the Rural Utilities Service to evaluate processes for application review, technical assistance, and awardee monitoring.
