Strengthening and Improving Mobilization Act of 2026

This bill proposes amendments to the Defense Production Act of 1950, primarily by introducing a new requirement for the Defense Production Act Committee. The committee will be mandated to conduct discussion-based simulations , commonly known as table-top exercises, on a regular basis. These exercises are designed to enhance preparedness and strategic planning for national defense and emergencies. The simulations must be performed at least once every five years to assess the resources needed for various scenarios. Furthermore, they aim to determine the best use of authorities granted under Title I and Title III of the Defense Production Act, ensuring effective mobilization capabilities.
