Stop Illegal Alien Cops Act

This bill proposes an amendment to Section 925(a)(1) of title 18, United States Code, which outlines exceptions to federal firearm prohibitions for government entities. Currently, this section exempts government agencies and officers from prohibitions related to individuals dishonorably discharged from the Armed Forces. The amendment expands these exemptions to include prohibitions found in subsections 922(d)(5) and 922(g)(5). These subsections generally prohibit the sale or possession of firearms and ammunition by unlawful aliens or those admitted under a nonimmigrant visa . Consequently, the bill would allow government entities to provide firearms to, or permit possession by, such aliens when they are acting in an official capacity.
