FAIR AIR Act

This proposed legislation, titled the Federal Air Improvements for Rural Access and Industry Resilience Act or the FAIR AIR Act , aims to modify existing requirements concerning commercial air tour operations. Its primary purpose is to extend the deadline for aircraft conducting tours within Grand Canyon National Park to convert to quiet technology. The bill specifically amends Section 35001(b)(1) of the Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act (MAP-21). It replaces the original compliance timeframe, which was set as "Not later than 15 years after the date of enactment of this Act," with a new, fixed date. Under this amendment, the new deadline for the conversion of these commercial air tour aircraft to quiet technology would be December 31, 2032 .
