Summary

This bill directs the Secretary of the Interior to undertake a study, in consultation with the Dakota Mainstem Regional Water System. This study aims to determine the feasibility of constructing a project to supply municipal, rural, and industrial water . The proposed project would serve the Dakota Mainstem Regional Water System service area, encompassing parts of South Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska, and Minnesota . The study must comply with established reclamation feasibility standards, and the federal government's share of the total costs is limited to 50 percent . For this purpose, $10,000,000 is authorized to be appropriated, and the authority to conduct the study will expire 10 years after the bill's enactment.
