Western South Dakota Water Supply Project Feasibility Study Act

This bill mandates the Secretary of the Interior, in coordination with the **Western Dakota Regional Water System, Inc.**, to undertake a comprehensive feasibility study. The purpose of this study is to assess the viability of a proposed project designed to deliver municipal, rural, and industrial water from the Missouri River to the **Western Dakota Regional Water System**. Upon completion of the study, the Secretary must develop a **feasibility report**. This report will include a recommendation on whether the proposed project should be authorized for construction and will determine the appropriate **non-Federal share of construction costs**, which must be at least 25 percent. The report is to be submitted to relevant Congressional committees and made publicly available. To fund the feasibility study, the Secretary is required to enter into a **cost-sharing agreement** with the non-Federal project entity, with the **Federal share of feasibility study costs** not exceeding 50 percent. The bill authorizes an appropriation of $10,000,000 for this section, and the authority to conduct the study will expire ten years after the bill's enactment.
