National Training Center for Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems Act

This bill mandates the establishment of comprehensive training and certification standards for individuals operating counter-unmanned aircraft system (UAS) detection and mitigation technologies. The Secretary of Homeland Security and the Attorney General are required to develop these standards, working closely with the Administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration. The training and certification criteria must specifically address the potential impacts of these systems on aviation safety , civil aviation operations, and the civilian use of airspace. Furthermore, the bill necessitates the creation of interagency coordination requirements that must be met before any counter-UAS systems, equipment, or technology are deployed. It also requires the establishment of the frequency for recurrent training or certification renewal to ensure operators maintain proficiency. Additionally, the Attorney General, in coordination with the Secretary of Homeland Security, is authorized to provide counter-UAS training and designate facilities for this purpose.
