Heroes Home Energy Savings Act

This legislation aims to significantly expand the Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) by specifically including active duty and reserve military households. It amends the Energy Conservation and Production Act to allocate dedicated funding for these military families. For fiscal years 2026 through 2030, the bill mandates that $2.1 million annually be used for WAP enhancement and innovation activities directly benefiting active duty and reserve military households. This funding is in addition to the general WAP appropriations. The legislation also authorizes a total of $350 million annually for the broader Weatherization Assistance Program for each of fiscal years 2026 through 2030, ensuring continued support for energy efficiency improvements. Furthermore, it extends the authorization for WAP enhancement and innovation activities until 2030.
