This bill requires the Secretary of Homeland Security, in coordination with the Secretaries of State, Commerce, and the Treasury, to develop a comprehensive strategy within 180 days for the expanded use of Trade Transparency Units (TTUs) . Congress views TTUs as crucial bilateral and multilateral tools for identifying, disrupting, and dismantling international money laundering networks. The strategy must focus on expanding information sharing between various U.S. agencies, including U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, and their foreign counterparts through TTUs. It also aims to improve intra-agency, inter-agency, and other multilateral information sharing related to these units. An unclassified version of this strategy, which may contain a classified annex, will be submitted to appropriate congressional committees, and the Comptroller General will subsequently assess it within 180 days of its submission.
