MACA Act

This legislative proposal requires the Bureau of the Census to collect specific information regarding dual citizenship status during the decennial census. Its primary objective is to gather comprehensive data on individuals who hold citizenship in both the United States and another country. Beginning with the 2030 decennial census and all subsequent censuses, the Secretary will be mandated to include a new option on questionnaires. This option will allow respondents to indicate, for themselves and all household members, whether they are citizens of both the United States and another country, and to specify which other country's citizenship they hold.
