Workforce Flexibility Act

This proposed legislation, known as the Workforce Flexibility Act , aims to modify the existing Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). Specifically, it seeks to eliminate a current requirement found in Section 129(a) of WIOA. The removed provision mandates that 75 percent of funds allocated for youth workforce investment activities must be directed towards services for out-of-school youth . By striking this paragraph, the bill would grant states and local workforce development boards increased flexibility. This would allow them to determine the most effective distribution of these funds between in-school and out-of-school youth populations based on local needs.
