Each report must detail the number of Medicare Part D enrollees who have utilized this election, including breakdowns by geographic region and plan type. It also requires an estimate of enrollees who did not make this election but likely would have benefited , alongside a description of efforts to implement a point-of-sale election mechanism for covered Part D drugs. Furthermore, the Secretary must outline all methods used to facilitate elections, such as the Medicare.gov website and the Medicare & You handbook, and describe comprehensive outreach efforts to various stakeholders, including provider associations and patient advocacy groups, to ensure broad awareness of this important payment option.
