Parity for Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian Students in Agriculture Act

This bill, known as the "Parity for Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian Students in Agriculture Act," aims to strengthen agricultural education programs at institutions serving Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian communities. It achieves this by amending the National Agricultural Research, Extension, and Teaching Policy Act of 1977 to extend and enhance grant funding. Specifically, the legislation extends appropriations for these education grant programs through fiscal year 2031. It allocates $10,000,000 for fiscal year 2026 and then increases the annual funding to $15,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2027 through 2031 for both Alaska Native serving institutions and Native Hawaiian serving institutions. Additionally, the bill establishes a new provision limiting the duration of grants awarded under these programs to a maximum of three years.
