Ask the Union Members Act

This bill amends existing labor laws to mandate secret ballot referendums for key union decisions. It requires that any collective bargaining agreement be approved for ratification by a majority vote of union members in good standing through a secret ballot, with the agreement provided to members at least 72 hours prior. Additionally, unions would be prohibited from authorizing a strike unless a majority of members in good standing vote to approve it via a secret ballot referendum. These measures aim to enhance member participation and transparency in critical union actions. The amendments are set to take effect 18 months after the bill's enactment.
